
Enterprise Search Engineer
The Enterprise Search Engineer is part of a larger team responsible the development, maintenance, and support of enterprise systems that support a portfolio of mission critical applications for a federal agency. The Search engineer is responsible for the maintenance, support, and enhancement of the Lucidworks Fusion Search platform. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining search solutions: Analysis of platform architecture and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Implementing AI and machine learning algorithms: Enhancing search capabilities using advanced algorithms to improve relevance and user experience.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams: Work closely with developers and other IT personnel to integrate search functionalities into various platforms. Participate in requirements design, code reviews, and internal feature demos.
- Optimizing search performance: Continuously monitoring and improving search performance, including indexing, query processing, and result ranking.
- User experience design: Ensuring that the search interface is user-friendly and meets the needs of the end-users.
- Security and Compliance: Develop and manage security artifacts, ensuring all applicable security controls comply with government standards.
Projected compensation range for this position is $140K - $170K. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal pay equity, location, contract-specific affordability and other organizational requirements.
Required Skills- 8+ years of IT experience
- Proven hands-on experience implementing and supporting enterprise search technologies
- Skilled in in Linux system administration and deployment, with experience in both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
- Experience with Apache Solr Enterprise search, Elasticsearch or other open source tools like Lucidworks Fusion.
- Familiarity with NIST standards (SP 800-53, SP 800-37), OMB A-130, and security frameworks for IT systems.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level system monitoring tools and metrics development.
- Expertise in IT security and privacy controls, Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) processes, and risk management practices.
- Must be a US Citizen
Desirable Skills
- Hands-on experience in Lucidworks Fusion Search Platform, with at least 2 implementations of Lucidworks Fusion Search
- Experience working with federal government customers
- Active federal government public trust clearance

- $140,000 - $170,000
