The Multnomah County Community Health Center provides quality health services for people who experience barriers to accessing care. Our vision is to provide services that are integrated and connected to support optimal health, reducing wait times, and optimizing access.

The Epic Systems Analyst is an expert at the use of clinical systems, including Epic EHR, to improve and support clinical and operational workflows. Duties include training staff on clinical applications, coaching staff to improve their use of applications, implementation of new systems and functionality, workflow optimization, problem analysis and resolution, use of data and reports for improvement, and local quality improvement.

Other duties will include:

  • Providing quality support for employees with a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on a broad portfolio of clinical applications, and standard workflows, including cross-application integration.
  • Provide customer technical assistance support including problem analysis and resolution, and documenting and tracking help desk contacts for follow-up and reporting.
  • Work with clinical systems users and leadership to analyze and clarify clinical systems, hardware and clinical/operational workflow problems.
  • Complete application configuration and build to maintain system access, use, and provide tools for clinical teams and other system users.
  • Participate in process improvement or implementation teams as appropriate to represent Clinical Systems Information (CSI).
  • Develop or revise training documents, operational process toolkits and curriculum for new functionality, upgrades, enhancements and applications.
  • Facilitate efforts with vendors and other key stakeholders to identify and articulate clinical system limitations and capabilities that need to be considered as part of project planning and roll-out.
  • Test implementation of new software, upgrades, and fixes to verify correct operations and detect errors, with a specific emphasis in the Epic system.
  • Provide on-site support to staff for the successful implementation of new software applications and system upgrades at each Multnomah County site, with a specific emphasis in the Epic system.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be as noted below. All non-traditional education, training and experience will be evaluated.

Education/Training: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree (In lieu of a degree, we will consider relevant education and experience); AND

Experience:One (1) to four (4) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • This position requires a background investigation, which may include being fingerprinted. Employment is contingent on passing a background investigation.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications/ Transferable Skills*: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/ transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates.   • Minimum of 1 year of increasingly responsible experience using Epic Systems software in a clinical or operational setting. Professional level evaluative, analytical, or planning experience is also desirable.
  • Working knowledge of implementation and support of Epic Systems Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Practice Management software systems or experience implementing new functionality in an existing EHR or Practice Management application database.
  • Basic knowledge of patient care clinical processes and workflows
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, external contacts, other agencies and the general public, including those from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a clinical or EHR setting
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership and users to identify opportunities for efficiencies in clinic operations, clinical practice support, and improved health outcomes
  • Ability to easily adapt to changing priorities and to demonstrate close attention to details
  • Assume project team responsibilities or sub-projects as assigned
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills including the ability to speak in front of groups and to communicate in writing policies, procedures, memoranda and training materials. Ability to operate and communicate effectively while under pressure is essential

Location: Gladys McCoy Building - 619 NW 6th Ave Portland OR 97209. This position is eligible for routine telework, however, the incumbent must reside in Oregon or Washington.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm

Note:All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. We are not able to sponsor H-B1 visas, F1 or STEM OPT.
