Fidelity’s Equity Division manages over 130 diversified mutual funds and more than 60 industry-specific funds, with over $1 trillion in assets under management. Our team includes 200+ Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, Research Associates, and Sector Specialists, all working together to deliver exceptional investment outcomes.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Institutional Portfolio Manager (IPM) to join our investment management organization. As the external facing member of the portfolio management team the IPM will interact with investment committees at retirement plan sponsors, advisory firm intermediaries, and investment consulting firms to drive new business opportunities and service clients through investment policy discussions, capital market reviews and performance reviews. The IPM will serve as a portfolio expert on specific US Equity strategies and drive cohesive investment support for internal business partners and institutional clients. Working closely with portfolio managers and CIOs, the Equity IPM maintains deep knowledge of investment process, portfolio objectives, positioning, equity research, portfolio changes and conducts analysis of the performance and implementation of the investment process. The IPM is the principal conduit to provide investment perspectives and portfolio insights to a broad range of constituencies, including current and prospective clients, consultants, third-party gatekeepers, and other marketplace participants.

Investment Acumen: Maintain deep expertise of equity markets, investment strategies, and portfolio management principles to support investment-focused client servicing.
Client Interaction: Communicate portfolio strategy, performance, market outlook and Fidelity’s competitive advantage to the institutional marketplace.
Thought Leadership: Serve as a thought leader and create content for white papers, webinars, and investment panels to communicate investment perspectives in support of our investment platform.
Collaboration: Partner closely with investment staff, product management, and marketing teams to ensure seamless support for existing clients and new business opportunities.
Marketplace Monitoring: Deliver strategic marketplace insight to the equity investment management organization, including ongoing competitor perspectives, industry trends and client/consultant areas of focus.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
You will possess the following characteristics:
10+ years of investment industry experience, with understanding of fundamental research, portfolio construction and risk management.
CFA designation or similar educational background preferred but not required.
Mastery of fundamental security analysis, portfolio analysis, and performance attribution.
A deep understanding of capital markets and equity market dynamics, in particular.
Successful track record of institutional solutions analytical work and investment management strategy implementation to a broad spectrum of institutional constituencies.
Highly effective and consistent written and verbal communication skills and desire to converse with sophisticated institutional clients.
Effective risk management skills, including ability to understand market, sector, and specific stock risks.
Ability to travel frequently, with an overall expectation of an average two days per week.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $185,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
