Join our team as a Esthetician/Laser Technician/Medical Assistant at MOOV Health & Wellness, where we are focused on outpacing aging through a physician-guided, personalized approach to wellness. In this role, you will provide skin care treatments and beauty services, provide safe, effective patient treatment while operating various medical lasers and related equipment, and serve in both a service role as a concierge for clients as well as being primarily responsible for supporting expert clinical care delivery for patients. The Opportunity

  • Evaluate skin conditions and provide personalized recommendations for treatments and products.
  • Offer expert advice on skincare products, routines, and maintenance to help clients achieve optimal results.
  • Perform skin care treatments including but not limited to facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, and other advanced skin care procedures.
  • Administer specialized treatments including but not limited to acne treatments, anti-aging procedures, and skin rejuvenation therapies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the treatment areas in compliance with state health regulations and ensure client safety and satisfaction.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and products are sanitized and stored correctly.
  • Keep up to date with the latest beauty and skincare trends, products, and techniques.
  • Build strong relationships with clients by offering top-notch service and encouraging repeat business.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines as required by the applicable state board and MOOV Health & Wellness.
  • Remain compliant with state licensing requirements and ensure all certifications are up to date.
  • Based on skin condition evaluation and skin care treatment plan, recommend skincare products to clients for home use.
  • Cross-sell other modalities in the studio such as Fotona laser, Emsculpt Neo, etc.
  • Collaborate with other wellness professionals, including physicians, in the studio to provide a holistic approach to client care.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Team, contribute to marketing initiatives to showcase esthetician services via website, flyers, social media, etc.
  • Help organize and participate in promotional events or community outreach activities.
  • Celebrate, create, and collect customer testimonials, before/after transformations, and stories to highlight MOOV methodologies and facilitate business growth.
  • Collaborate with other MOOV Estheticians to ensure consistency and safety amongst all MOOV locations.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with MOOV clinicians, discussing clients' progress, concerns, and any emerging medical issues.
  • Participate in regular meetings or case conferences with the clinician team to discuss client care and treatment plans.
  • Seek guidance and consult with the clinicians when necessary to address complex health conditions or situations that require medical expertise.
  • Share relevant information and insights with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for clients.
  • Collaborate with other studio team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in team meetings, sharing insights, and contributing to the overall studio goals.
  • Assist with cross-functional tasks or projects, promoting a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility.
  • Support the training and onboarding of new team members, sharing knowledge and providing guidance.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of marketing materials.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitors to identify opportunities for studio growth.
  • Greet clients as they come in for their procedure.
  • Perform cosmetic procedures under direction of physician, such as hair removal, photo rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, acne removal, etc.
  • Educate clients on how to recover from each procedure and how to care for their skin.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Document all appointments.
  • Triage, vital, and room patients.
  • Facilitate patient flow and ensure smooth running of the back office.
  • Prepare patients for physician/advanced provider evaluation. Collect clinical intake information, which includes medical history, medications, capturing vital signs and allergies, and gathering information relative to the presenting illness or injury.
  • Assist physician/advanced provider in evaluation and treatment of the patient.
  • Record patient interview, history, and other relevant information into electronic medical record (EMR). Scan all patient clinical encounter documents into EMR and label appropriately per protocol as needed.
  • Administer medications/injections under the supervision of the physician or advanced provider.
  • Perform ordered procedures – EKG, visual acuity, height, weight, injections, venipuncture specimen collection, tray set-ups, assist physician/advanced provider as needed during procedures.
  • Collect and perform Point-of-care testing, including influenza, Strep A, Covid-19, urine dipstick, urine pregnancy, mononucleosis, RSV, etc.
  • Review visit summaries and home care instructions with patients including prescriptions provided and work or school notes as well as follow-up care.
  • Provide after-visit follow-up phone calls to all patients and relay any diagnostic testing results.
  • Provide navigational care for patients including coordinating referrals, following up on medications, ordering from nearby pharmacies.
  • Provide accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
  • Comply with federal and local laws in ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory for expiration and ordering of supplies.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions and notifying studio manager of any equipment malfunction.
  • Clean rooms after each patient in a timely manner.
  • Welcome members and guests into the facility, ensuring their first interactions are warm, genuine and efficient.
  • Answer patient and client inquiries in a timely and polite manner; respond to inquiries or direct the caller to appropriate personnel while entering appropriate clerical notation into the documentation record (EHR, patient relationship manager, or booking software).
  • Assist in answering phones and taking accurate messages, as needed.
  • Assist Front Desk Concierge with client needs including directing clients to rooms and coordinating services. Communicate in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner.
  • Stock supplies and client clothing in all areas of the studio.
  • Assist in daily center operations including opening and closing the center and maintaining a facility that is cared for and enticing.

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Current and valid Esthetician license issued by the state in which services are performed is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed is required.
  • Certificate from an accredited Laser Technician/Electrologist vocational program is required.
  • Certification from the National Council on Laser Certification is required.
  • Current active Laser Technician/Electrologist license in good standing in the state of practice is required.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification from an accredited institution, unless otherwise specified by the individual State’s requirements that allow on-the-job training in lieu of certification, is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a spa or beauty setting is preferred.
  • Laser and cosmetology experience is preferred.
  • Healthcare experience in an urgent care or primary care setting is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or med spa setting is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to deliver exceptional experiences and build client relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
