Nashville Public Radio is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant & Community Engagement Specialist to provide high-level support to the CEO while spearheading event-driven community outreach. This unique hybrid role is equal parts strategic support and public-facing community manager—perfect for someone who thrives behind the scenes and in front of a crowd.
You'll work with the CEO to ensure their time and energy are focused on the big picture while building unforgettable touchpoints for our audience, donors, and civic partners.
Executive Support (Approx. 50%)
- Manage the CEO's calendar, inbox, travel logistics, and high-priority communications.
- Prepare briefing materials, meeting agendas, and presentations with precision and clarity.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings—with the goal of increasing and deepening community partnerships in an organization whose purpose is community connections and community service.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Track deadlines, goals, and cross-departmental follow-ups on behalf of the CEO.
Community Engagement & Events (Approx. 50%)
- Plan, execute, and support strategic events—salons, mixers, town halls, donor experiences, and civic partnerships.
- Serve as the liaison between the CEO and external stakeholders, ensuring thoughtful and timely engagement.
- Collaborate with Development, Programming, and Marketing to design mission-aligned, community-centered events.
- Oversee event logistics, vendor relations, and on-site production—ensuring each gathering reflects the voice and values of Nashville Public Radio.
- Track engagement data, RSVPs, and feedback to refine future events and deepen connection.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of community partnerships.
- 3–5+ years of experience in executive support, event planning, or community engagement.
- Exceptional time management and writing skills.
- Proven success planning and managing public-facing events or donor/stakeholder gatherings.
- Comfort with tools like G Suite, Outlook, Airtable or Asana, and CRM/event platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Eventbrite).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Days and hours of work vary, but often run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional weekend and evening hours will be necessary.
