What You Will Do

Training student workers for WCAG 2.1AA remediation in Blackboard
Supervising students who are working between 10-20 hours per week in Science East 1256 Remediation Lab at any given time 8am-4:30pm M-F
Helping resolve issues/answer questions related to making files accessible (WCAG 2.1AA)
Troubleshooting computer, BB, Microsoft, Adobe issues
Ensure students are on task/managing breaks
Advising on communication/messaging to faculty after remediation is complete
Student timesheet management and Time Entry via Banner
Assigning and approving student workers to each course shell (through Teams)
Liaising with IDLT for BB administration add/remove student workers

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

-Bachelors degree in any field
-Experience working with Microsoft products, Adobe Acrobat, and Blackboard
-Experience managing projected and/or large teams

The amount of time for which services are needed is not usually predictable and payment for work performed is on an hourly basis and based on actual hours worked. Workdays and hours may vary according to departmental requirements.Extra Help employees do not receive SIUE benefits, holiday pay or paid sick or vacation leave.

Extra Help employees are required by State Universities Civil Service System rules to take a 30-calendar-day break after working 900 hours. At the end of the 30 days, you may begin another 900-hour employment cycle in a new position if available. Working Extra Help will in no way affect any other employment opportunities with SIUE, including your position on and Civil Service register. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.

Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days will result in immediate termination of employment.

The screening process will encompass a criminal background check and, where applicable, other background checks such as a drug screen, verification of employment and education or licensure/certification, reference checks, and/or checks with relevant government registries.
