Summary: This position is responsible for management of all Facility and Maintenance activities. Ensures that facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in dependable condition; that required repairs are rapidly completed; and that capital and non-capital projects are effectively managed. Directs the activities of technical personnel, skilled craftworkers, and contractors. Manages fixed assets and disposes of excess and obsolete assets. Monitors and controls facility and maintenance expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, schedules, and directs maintenance and facility projects and schedules to ensure that all work is properly prioritized and completed in timely fashion at lowest possible costs. Monitors departmental requirements and adjusts schedules and resources as required to accomplish critical tasks.
- Prepares capital appropriation requests (CAR’s) related to facility modifications and equipment acquisitions. Plans and schedules internal and external resources required to complete approved capital projects. Monitors project costs and make required corrections to prevent CAR cost overruns.
- Responsible for fixed asset management. Ensures that all fixed assets are properly accounted for in company records. In cooperation with manufacturing management and senior staff, determines excess and obsolete equipment. Disposes of such equipment while obtaining best possible price from purchasers.
- Monitors and manages the activities of outside contractors. Prepares technical requests for proposals. Monitors and controls projects and budgets to prevent cost overruns.
- Manage preventive maintenance software to generate work histories and periodic work instructions for machinery and equipment. Plans and oversees implementation of preventive maintenance activities to ensure that manufacturing resources are available to support production schedules.
- Prepares facility designs for major projects such as equipment installation or movement, facility addition or modification, and real property modifications. May retain external professional services to support project completion, obtain specialized knowledge, or to comply with codes and regulations.
- Coordinates activities with Safety & Environmental management to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Interfaces with representatives of federal, state, and local regulatory agencies such as OSHA and TNRCC.
- Oversees fire protection and physical security systems to protect buildings, equipment, and personnel. Ensures that systems are adequate and operational at all times to protect company assets and to comply with insurance requirements and government regulations.
- Manage contracts for miscellaneous services provided by contractors such as janitorial, pest control and fire extinguisher inspection.
- Maintains a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. Ensures that personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and compliance with all applicable company policies and governmental regulations.
Benefits/Salary:

Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience leading a team
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management software.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Salary range
- $110,000 - $140,000 per year
