Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Analytics and Assets Management Director, this position manages the lifecycle of physical assets within and across multiple facilities for the University of Kentucky – Lexington Campus, including planning and maintenance to repairs and replacements; Participates in establishing, developing, executing, and maintaining an effective and integrative asset management plan; Administers the facilities’ asset management plan to support decision-making, capital planning, resource allocation, and policy implementation; Strives to optimize asset performance, improve facility operations, and align resources with strategic objectives; Seeks longer asset lifecycles, reduced operations costs, improved sustainability, and enhanced safety; Ensures functional facilities and focuses on the proactive, long-term performance and financial value of the physical assets.

In addition, the Facilities Asset Manager combines operational expertise with strategic insight to deliver and implement data-driven decision-making: Completes evaluations and assessments of facilities and systems; Conducts inspections and interviews to document assets and system conditions as well as performance; Incorporates current state information of building and building system(s) into future needs assessments; Collects building and system data from other sources and compiles into easily readable and understood reports; Develops, maintains, and manages a capital replacement project list by evaluating system age, lifecycle risk, campus infrastructure priorities, and facility criticality to support data-informed investment decisions; Builds forecasts and reports of asset renewals for various departments and University leadership for funding decision-making; and manages facilities and assets effectively while supporting long-term organization goals.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

MS Windows/Office; Business Administration; Safety and Environmental Compliance Statutes; Construction Building Codes; Fiscal Acumen; SAP., KRONOS.

Driver’s License — Preferred

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies to manage assets effectively;
Knowledge of real-world maintenance, asset optimization, improved sustainability, and enhanced safety. Previous experience in facility maintenance in higher education, property management, or asset management; including Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), GIS, or specialized asset management software.
