Responsibilities

Howmet Engines currently seeks a Facilities Engineer to join our Howmet Research Center Facilities and Maintenance Group. This position will be located in Whitehall, Michigan.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The person in this position will be part of a Facilities and Maintenance team that is responsible for maintenance of the facility and equipment including all development manufacturing processes and testing facilities.
  • Responsible for the implementation of projects to upgrade existing equipment and systems
  • Coordinate and support plant rearrangements
  • Assist in the selection, procurement and installation of new equipment that supports the day-to-day operations at the research center
  • Act as a resource for onsite maintenance and contracted services

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

BS Degree in the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 1-3 years’ experience in a facilities engineering role.
• Previous internship, co-op experience, or previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 0-10% Travel to other Howmet facilities
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of building systems and safety regulations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Experience with CMMS systems, PM’s and Spare Parts management.
• Experience with facility budgeting and capital processes.
• Experience with coordination of external contractors for specialized tasks
• Ability to manage contractor and facility safety regulations.
