We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead a team of two finance professionals in overseeing financial operations for the Central Region of Veolia North America's Municipal Water Contract Operations business line. The successful candidate will ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.

Job Description

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Oversight
- Manage accounting and controlling functions for the Central Region.
- Oversee revenue and expense accruals, provisions, and SG&A activity.
- Capital expenditures budgeting and reporting.
- Ensure integrity of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reporting.
- Execute month-end closing processes and liaise between operational and overhead teams.
Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze financial statements and operating results against budgets, forecasts, and prior-year trends.
- Prepare monthly dashboards and profitability comparison bridges.
- Ensure accurate population of internal and external reporting disclosures.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
Operational & Process Management
- Lead accounts receivable management and allowances for contract customers.
- Propose and implement process improvements for enhanced automation and controls.
- Collaborate with IT for system report optimization.
- Participate in budget and forecast formulation with operational and SG&A teams.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a team of two finance professionals.
- Provide guidance under regional VP of Finance/CFO direction.
- Support senior operational managers (CEO, CFO, VPs, regional line managers).
Compliance & Audit
- Maintain strict adherence to GAAP and accounting processes.
- Coordinate external audit processes and prepare required work papers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 7+ years of accounting or financial management experience.
- IFRS experience.
- Previous experience in utilities or water industry.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong ERP system experience (SAP preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong project management and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Detail-oriented with a process-focused mindset.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- CPA or CMA certification.
