Maps Credit Union is seeking an experienced and relationship-focused Financial Advisor to join our growing Wealth Management team. This role offers the opportunity to help members pursue their financial goals through personalized, unbiased advice, thoughtful planning, and exceptional service.


Reporting to the Chief Engagement Officer and supported by the Wealth Operations Manager, our advisors operate in a collaborative environment that values integrity, professionalism, lifelong learning, and member advocacy.


Maps offers its investment services program through Ameriprise Financial Institutions Group, a channel of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC. Advisors are dual employees of Maps and Ameriprise and benefit from the strength of an open-architecture platform along with robust planning tools, resources, and support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Represent Maps Investments with the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethics.
  • Demonstrate Maps’ core values in every interaction: commitment, character, collaboration, competence, and composition.
  • Co-develop and execute an effective business development plan to grow assets under management and deepen member relationships,
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, clients, and internal business partners.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and client acquisition.
  • Partner with branch teams on sales initiatives, referrals, and financial education opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Branch Managers and teammates to identify cross-service and sales opportunities and expand member service,
  • Support investment and Credit Union integration initiatives including seminars, branch training, and member outreach events.
  • Analyze clients’ financial situations, goals, and risk tolerance to provide tailored recommendations.
  • Implement appropriate investment, insurance, and financial planning solutions aligned with member goals and the Credit Union’s mission.
  • Conduct proactive comprehensive client reviews and financial plan updates.
  • Deliver timely, responsive, and exceptional client service.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable Credit Union, FINRA, SEC, Ameriprise, BSA, OFAC, AML, Regulation BI, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on economic trends, market conditions, and financial products.
  • Support departmental goals and strategic initiatives established by Wealth Team leadership.

Requirements:


Required Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of demonstrated success in the financial services industry.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 & 65/66 licenses.
    (Unlicensed or partially licensed candidates must obtain required licenses within 180 days of hire.)
  • Oregon Life and Health Insurance licenses required.
    (Unlicensed or partially licensed candidates must obtain required licenses within 180 days of hire.)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for client meetings.
  • Must be bondable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFP® designation preferred but not required.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Typical schedule: Monday–Friday during standard business hours.
  • Position is based in either Salem or Oregon City, Oregon, and services clients throughout Maps’ geographic footprint.

Compensation

This role may be structured as:

  • Salary plus incentive/bonus compensation, or
  • Traditional grid-based compensation

Compensation structure will depend on experience, licensing, and business development background.
