Job Description

Pay Rate: $70000 to a maximum of $80000 Per Year and 5% Bonus.

Position Purpose:

In this role, you will participate in and manage complex financial analysis reports and projects. Using a broad knowledge of financial practices and procedures, you will provide strategy recommendations to management.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Deliver FP&A support to CFO, Director of Finance, Manager, and Finance Team:
  • Provide variance deep dive analysis with historical and forecasts for monthly and year to date reporting.
  • Run Variance and cost/revenue models and Peoplesoft (ERP) analysis in Hyperion.
  • Support for annual OPEX, Revenue, and CAPEX Budgets and forecast.
  • Deliver timely support to Rate Case and DSIC Filing.
  • Deliver financial metrics on billing and receivables inclusive of trend analysis of DBO/DSO, AR metrics, benchmarking, and target setting.

Leverage best in class tools to improve revenue performance and financial efficiency:
  • Data driven strategic solutions with intimate understanding of utility business functions and in relation to financial profitability, accounting rules, state/federal regulatory compliance, and contractual agreements.
  • Monitor operational objectives and metrics that drive the financial performance of the division.
  • Produce regular Revenue / AR reporting and highlight variances.
  • Provide a high level of data proficiency and analytical skills.

Co-Lead Key Performance Indicators Presentation (Development, Presentations, Strategy):
  • Prepare and develop KPIs covering the 500+ person operations spanning. regional and functional business units.
  • Monitor compliance, benchmark performance, enhance customer experience, drive operational excellence, identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Discuss and challenge operational and financial assumptions in liaison with the Division President, Director of Finance, and Sr Director of Operations.
  • Consolidate takeaways and personally deliver answers with operations buy in.

Complete the following tasks annually or ad-hoc as needed:
  • Support Veolia system rollouts and pioneer the adaptation of new platform solutions.
  • Analysis within operational systems Peoplesoft, Sensus AMI, Hexagon, Clevest (MWM), Kloudgin, CC&B, and GIS.
  • Payroll Reporting covering Overtime, Allocations, and Capitalization.
  • Accounts Payable Support; Dept Coding Blocks, PO Renewals, Inventory Management


Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:
  • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 1-8 years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting/Data.
  • Mastery of Excel and Google (or equivalent data tools).
  • Prior utility industry experience desired.
  • Significant achievements in analyzing complex financial issues.
  • KPI or data science experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that translate to operational effectiveness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Desire to learn about the Water Industry.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to deliver on tasks and projects. Ability to identify creative solutions and to individually execute as a sole contributor.
  • Highly proficient with Google, Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent system.
  • Peoplesoft, Hyperion, SmartView knowledge are highly desirable.
  • Highly effective management of data, presentation skill, and data visualization (SQL basics preferred).
  • Integrity, reliability and autonomy.
