POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst position will be responsible for providing financial analyses, recommendations, and support for Colonial Group and will act as a liaison between accounting and operations. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated employee who will be excited to learn about the business and grow with the finance department.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
- Work with the Director of FP&A in developing and refining processes to improve financial analysis and reporting across Colonial’s subsidiary companies.
- Partner with the leaders and operations teams to better understand the business.
- Partner with accounting to collect and analyze financial data turning it into actionable insights.
- Identify and/or develop key indicators impacting performance and results.
- Build and maintain models in Excel to support financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.
- Closely analyze monthly sales and track margin performance.
- Support the continued development of the annual fiscal year budget and forecasting process.
- Review and analyze trends (revenues, costs, inventories, etc.)
- Identify areas to automate reporting and eliminate duplication.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree is required (finance, accounting, business, math, etc.)
- A working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, XLookup, etc)
- The candidate should be comfortable learning new software platforms; prior exposure to JD Edwards and Power BI is helpful but not required
- Verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
