Job Summary

Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a Financial Specialist III to serve as the Student Accounts Receivable Assistant. This position will work with student accounts, process students bills, complete collection processing, and ensure student accounts are aligned with correct charges.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the collection process with collections outside vendors to include:
  • Review student accounts in PeopleSoft
  • Prepare mail merge correspondence for 1st Urgent Notice Letters
  • Prepare mail merge correspondence for Final Notice Letters
  • Select & Process student accounts to turn over to DOR for collections
  • Maintain DOR data in PeopleSoft and External Spreadsheets
  • Run queries and update student account service indicators
  • Serves as the point of contact with DOR for students and the college
  • Audit daily Proof sheets and Process EFT bank fund transfers to KCTCS central depository bank account
  • Audit employee expense reimbursement requests and travel vouchers.
  • Responsible for student billings within PeopleSoft, including:
  • Running reports and queries in PeopleSoft and the DSS system
  • Assisting students with enrollment in Payment Plans and Past Due Payment plans.
  • Coordinate with the Dual Credit Coordinator to send statement letters to dual credit students
  • Process returned checks, returned E-checks and returned credit card payments to include:
  • Update the student account
  • Contact student or customer, if not redeemed then process though Hardin County Attorney’s office or third-party collection agency
  • Problem Solve/Research & maintain student accounts
  • Coordinate Purge process for non-payment for ECTC per semester.
  • Process & maintain Chapter 13 & Chapter 7 Bankruptcy paperwork concerning student accounts
  • Assist students with BankMobile refund preferences
  • Post various scholarships and waivers using specific item types
  • Provide numerous reports to other college departments
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
