General Summary:
The Fire Equipment Technician will assist in the growth of the Fire Equipment line of products here at Hooper.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Install kitchen hood systems
- Inspect fire extinguishers, kitchen fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and other life safety equipment
- Complete new installations of fire equipment
- Recharge fire extinguishers and other related equipment
- Train others to recharge, install, and inspect equipment
- Work with other Hooper trades with past, current, and future customers and opportunities
- Understand and practice workplace safety
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High school graduate or GED required
- At least 2-3 years of related experience preferred
- Completion of certifications in different kitchen fire suppression systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Safety-orientated and ability to make decisions without close supervision
Description of Physical Working Environment:
- Physically demanding position. Requires continuous standing, walking, and lifting on a regular basis with frequent twisting, bending, and turning
- May require lifting of supply boxes or materials up to 50 lbs as needed
- Ability to climb ladders, steps, and work on equipment surfaces is required
