- Creating bench top samples for internal review.
- Recording lot information on raw materials used in the lab.
- Heating samples and setting up sensory panels.
- Sourcing raw materials from the plant
- Assisting other R&D team members with plant trials.
- Evaluating raw materials submitted by new vendors.
- Carrying out other support functions and activities as required.
- Safety/GMP/Food Safety/Quality policies followed.
- Attendance requirements met.
- Accurately measuring ingredients and following recipe procedures.
- Understand functional ingredient applications.
- Ability to develop a product that meets customer criteria within cost constraints.
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing.
- 3-5 years of experience in product development.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret food formulations and directions.
- Knowledge of GMP's, USDA, and OSHA regulations and BRC requirements.
- Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications.
- Skill in being a self-starter.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Reaching, and lifting 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in cold, humid environments with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees.
- Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels
- Exposure to slippery and wet conditions
- This position is an onsite position.
