
General Maintenance Technician
Full Time
Purpose: To plan and implement a healthy, safe and attractive environment for staff, visitors and patients of Caron Treatment Centers.
Hours: 7am-3pm; or 8am-4pm
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduled function set up / tear down.
- Reviews work orders daily.
- Performs building and grounds maintenance/cleaning tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Tasks include, but are not limited to painting, plumbing, hvac repairs, electrical trouble shooting, drywall, yard maintenance, etc.
- Ensures that appearance of buildings and grounds meet Caron standards.
- Performs maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Reports all potential hazards, property damage or unsafe conditions to maintenance supervisor.
- Responsible for inter-office staff moves.
- Fire extinguisher PM’s and door alarms.
- Places orders on supplies
- Conduct fire drill licensure requirements
- Communicate and coordinate with venders for repairs as needed.
- Meet and discuss maintenance issues with supervisor as needed.
- Be available to assist with in-house projects when asked.
- Be available to provide emergency and extraordinary services during unscheduled work hours as dictated by business need.
- Be able to manage locations and units as assigned.

- Must be available for on call rotation, 7 days minimum.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk throughout the properties.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb stairs.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Must be able to use step and extension ladders not to exceed 40 feet.
- Must be able to do repetitive and strenuous work.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, push and pull as necessary to perform required tasks.
- Must be able to work around odors, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must produce and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with Driving Standards Policy.
- Must meet minimum requirements on Motor Vehicle Reports in accordance with Driving Standards Policy.
- High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
- If in recovery, 2 years continuous sobriety is preferred.
- Must possess e.pa. certificate for usage of Freon
- Must have a minimum of 2 years HVAC experience.
- Must have 2 years electrical experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate professional communication skills to include the ability to interact and work together with co-workers, patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner. Ability to follow written or verbal directions.
- Must be able to use basic tools pertaining to Maintenance.
- Must have knowledge of general building maintenance.
Competence and Measurement:
- Must be able to complete set ups before required times. Measured by work order completion status and comments from staff.
- Being available to provide emergency and overtime service at times during unscheduled work hours. This will be measured through observation
- Ability to follow through with requests as directed by the Supervisor. This will be measured by work orders and observation.
- Must be hands on and a self-starter.
- Must be able to properly use tools pertaining to the Maintenance Department. This will be measured by observation and documentation.
- Ability to interact with coworkers, patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner. This will be measured by observation.
- Ability to perform effectively before, during and after emergency situations. This will be measured by observation.
