Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 25lbs; occasionally moving objects up to 25lbs; regularly sitting/standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); utilizing mouse, keyboard, and phone for portions of the day. Ability to travel to various locations on and off-campus for field work and meetings.

The University of Kentucky is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our Enterprise Applications and Infrastructure team within Information Technology Services. This position is part of UK’s evolving IT strategy and will report through the Technology Services department in Beyond Blue effective July 1, 2026.

This role sits at the intersection of geospatial technology, data analytics, and enterprise infrastructure, supporting systems that map, monitor, and optimize the university’s network and utility environments.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining and advancing a large-scale GIS platform built on ArcGIS, helping transform complex infrastructure data into actionable insights that support planning, risk mitigation, and decision-making across the university.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain GIS-based systems for tracking and managing network and utility infrastructure
  • Build and enhance data integration pipelines and workflows to standardize and improve data quality
  • Analyze fiber, cable, and network infrastructure to support capacity planning, redundancy, and risk mitigation
  • Develop reporting and visualization tools to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate, up-to-date system data and continuous improvement
  • Provide technical support, training, and user assistance for GIS tools and internally developed applications

Minimum Requirements
