Position Summary
This role is based in Lawrenceburg IN reporting to the Director of Treasury, Tax & Corporate Projects and works with Plant Management to ensure compliance with all regulations. The role also works closely with NJ HQ Finance business partners to reconcile financial accounts. The role oversees the timely/accurate periodic compliance reporting with the TTB and state regulators. Additionally, this role will interact with the Denver, NY Manufacturing and Finance teams to ensure procedural compliance. There are no direct reports to this role.
Role & Responsibilities
The Government Compliance & Tax Analyst balances, oversees and submits 5110.28-Monthly report of processing (wine/Spirits), 5111.28-Monthly Report of Wine Premise Operations, 5110.11-Monthly Report of Storage Operations, CRT Quarterly Tequila Report, Quarterly drawback report for flavors, drawback claims for tax paid items sent out for export or destruction. Payment of FET taxes semi-monthly, balance case goods and bulk inventories and adjust, provide audit support, ensure paperwork accuracy of processing & bottling documents and BOLs. Completes export documentation (5100.11). Work with IT to ensure reports for Government Records are accurate and facilitate improvements when needed. Maintain and update SAP tax table and generate tax codes for new SKU’s.
- Maintains all compliance matters with TTB. This includes timely submission of reports such as 5110.28 (Processing Operations), payment of FET taxes (5000.24A Excise Tax Return), State Taxes, exports (5100.11), and audit support. Balance case goods, bulk inventories, and make any necessary adjustments. Verify tax rates on bottled products and shipments for accuracy. Provide support during physical inventory of case goods, ensure stockroom and lot integrity. Review/file paperwork from Processing, Bottling, and BOL's as backup for TTB audits (ensure accuracy).
- Oversees preparation of semi-monthly FET reports for submission to TTB. These must be done in an accurate and timely manner. After preparing and reviewing the FET reports for submission, ensure they are distributed to TTB, customers, and the corporate office. These bi-monthly FET submissions are critical as they represent a significant financial impact for the company (in the millions).
- Accurately prepares and submits all reports to TTB, corporate office, plant personnel, and state government in a timely manner. Work with IT to ensure system reports for Government Records are accurate, reliable, and facilitate improvements or updates as necessary.
- Assists TTB personnel during on-site audits or general inquiries. All government records documentation should be readily accessible and organized for auditing.
- Audits or reviews specific areas for TTB compliance, specifically bottling, processing, and shipping as needed.

Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in BA, Finance/Accounting required, MBA a plus
- 5+ years’ experience in the Spirits Industry in a compliance related field such as TTB, Customs, IRS
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Project Management, Excel and Word
- Oversight of TTB compliance including procedural and documentation requirements
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
