General Summary
The Health Administration Program at Eastern Michigan University is seeking a motivated Graduate Assistant (GA) who will support recruitment and outreach initiatives, develop marketing materials, serve as a point of contact between faculty, staff, and prospective students, and conduct research. This role offers hands-on experience in program management and creativity while assisting faculty and engaging with prospective students.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Assist faculty and program staff with organizing meetings, workshops, and events.
- Assist with administrative operations, including scheduling, communication, and document organization.
Student Recruitment & Engagement
- Coordinate recruitment events, information sessions, and campus presentations.
- Engage with current and prospective students to provide program information and guidance.
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials, such as flyers and digital content.
- Collaborate with university partners and community colleges to build relationships and strengthen transfer pipelines.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to attract prospective students.
Research & Program Development
- Support faculty and staff with research projects, data collection, and literature reviews.
- Analyze industry trends and best practices in health administration to enhance program offerings.
- Assist in compiling reports and presentations for academic and administrative use.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at Eastern Michigan University.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional setting.
Interest in health administration, research, and student engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as a design space to create flyers (Canva, etc.) preferred.
Additional Information:
Hours & Compensation:
Part-time position (10 hours per week) (150 hours per semester max).
Compensation per university guidelines for graduate assistant roles.
Appointment Percentage:
100%
