Job Summary:
The Student Activities Graduate Assistant will assist in the administrative tasks of the Office of Student Activities. The Graduate Assistant will also have the opportunity to develop their skills by overseeing specific projects and assisting Registered Student Organizations with finance-related tasks. It is expected that the Graduate Assistant will work collaboratively with the Student Activities team to promote the university’s mission through activities, events and leadership opportunities.

- Work 10 hours per week for the Office of Student Activities
- Work with Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) to facilitate purchase requests and funding requests
- Approve and process all RSO purchase requests and reimbursements
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for Student Government Association (SGA) account and credit card
- Provide PAX Finance training for students, faculty and staff as needed
- Serve as an administrator for the PAX student engagement portal, including monitoring the finance portion of the portal
- Assist the SGA Budget Committee with reviewing and approving annual budgets
- Disperse SGA approved budget allocations
- Audit all RSO budgets at the end of each fiscal year
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Assist with Student Activities email account and correspondence
2. Assist with planning and execution of student activities programs as time allows
3. Participate in various institutional events such as Orientation, Connection Days, Homecoming and Family Weekend, Senior Week and Commencement
4. Occasionally attend Open Houses as a representative from Student Activities
Qualifications/Education:
- Commitment to the mission statement, core values and goals of Alvernia University.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Prioritize work, manage time, and multitask appropriately
- Function autonomously and as a member of a team
- Attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Attendance is required in order to perform the duties of this job.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
