This position requires a minimum of 20 hours/week during the summer.Number of positions:1Department:608-DevelopmentContact Name:Kat CilibertoContact Phone/Extension:610-519-7962 Position Summary Information Job Description Summary:The Student Philanthropy Graduate Intern will work with the Annual Giving team in University Advancement as we inspire Villanovans to support the University through gifts of all sizes. Your efforts will have a direct impact on building financial resources for the people, programs and initiatives that make Villanova great. Focusing on the solicitation, engagement, and stewardship campaigns of student philanthropy, you will play a role in the day-to-day management of our Senior Class Gift program committee, on-campus event planning and execution, preparing and analyzing data, and developing content.1842 Day (Villanova’s annual day of giving) Strategy, Execution, and Analysis• Support the planning, execution, and assessment of 1842 Day student engagement efforts• Coordinate the student-facing initiatives within the broader 1842 Day strategy, ensuring consistency in messaging, goals, and campus-wide engagement efforts• Build and track student participation goals, including organization-level engagement and donor benchmarks• Analyze the Student Giving Power Hour performance and participation trends and identify growth opportunities
Student Committee Advisory and Campus Partner Collaboration
• Serve as the primary advisor to the Senior Class Gift committee, managing the day-to-day tasks and initiatives• Develop resources and fundraising strategies for the committee• Collaborate with cross-campus partners to coordinate events and initiatives that serve student philanthropic goals• Identify trends and patterns in giving behavior (timing, segmentation, campaign performance) to bolster data-informed decision making and strategy• Track initiative outcomes, including revenue generated, participation rates, and cost-efficiency, to inform future planning and prioritizationProcess and Data Management
• Document processes related to student philanthropy and broader Annual Giving initiatives• Prepare data lists for email, mail and social media campaigns• Regularly generate reports related to student philanthropy metrics and update existing tracking documentation• Analyze student philanthropy data as it relates to key performance indicators, including engagement initiatives, social media campaigns, and solicitation strategies• Develop baseline projections and forecasting models for student giving participation, including donor count, average gift size, and revenue targets across campaigns such as the Senior Class Gift and 1842 Day• Support reconciliation of data to ensure alignment with Advancement records and accurate tracking of revenue and participationEvent and Outreach Coordination• Assist in the planning and execution of student philanthropy events and outreach efforts throughout the year including organizing tabling events, donor recognition activities and thank-you campaigns• Track event participation, engagement rates, and conversion to giving to inform future event strategy and resource allocationContent Development and Management• Assist with writing solicitation and stewardship messages• Manage the daily scheduling and posting of the Senior Class Gift social media accounts, including creating social media graphics, posting consistently, and responding to comments and direct messages of the followers• Track and evaluate content performance (engagement, click-through rates, conversion to giving) to optimize messaging and digital strategyResearch & Benchmarking Support
• Attend trainings related to relevant advancement topics• Conduct research on areas for which there is a current knowledge gap or that require further exploration, including benchmarking with peer institutions on student giving participation, day of giving strategies, and campaign ROIAnnual Giving Initiatives• Assist with projects as needed to support the Annual Giving team’s collaborations with special events, stewardship, gift processing and prospect research• Staff key initiatives such as 1842 Day, Homecoming, young alumni events, and others as required
Requirements:• Graduate-level degree in progress at Villanova University• Advanced organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment• Excellent written and verbal/written communication skills• Strong worth ethic and teamwork skills• Basic excel skills, including basic formula generation and data visualization tools• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 tools• Advanced organizational and time management skills• Must be a problem-solver, self-starter and capable of finding solutions with minimal oversight• Ability to work with and discuss confidential matters

This position requires a minimum of 10 hours/week but can be up to 20 hours/week as determined by the manager. Ideal candidate will also be available for Summer 2026. Opportunity to continue through the 2026-2027 academic year, if mutually agreed upon.
