Description: The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating high-quality visual content that supports AAL’s marketing, communications, and digital presence efforts. This role develops visually compelling designs for digital and print media, ensuring all products align with Army branding standards, messaging accuracy, and campaign objectives.This role serves as the visual execution layer across multiple task areas, directly supporting Campaign Management, Content Development, Digital Presence , and Events.ResponsibilitiesGraphic Design Development
- Design visually engaging digital and print materials, including:
- Campaign graphics
- Social media visuals
- Infographics
- Whitepapers and marketing collateral
- Select appropriate colors, fonts, imagery, and layouts to effectively communicate messaging
- Ensure all design deliverables comply with:
- AAL branding guidelines
- Army and AFC communication standards
- Maintain consistency across all visual products and campaigns
- Ensure all visual materials accurately convey approved messaging
- Collaborate with communications and content teams to align visuals with narrative objectives
- Work closely with:
- Marketing & Promotions Manager
- Content Development
- Digital Presence team
- Event teams
- Support integrated campaigns and event-related design needs
- Provide recommendations on design best practices for all projects
- Optimize layouts and visual elements for audience engagement and platform effectiveness
- Complete all design tasks within established timelines
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards
- 95% of design projects completed on or before deadlines (Pass/Fail)
- Full compliance with AAL, AFC, and Army branding standards (1 error per quarter)
- Best practice recommendations provided on 100% of projects (Pass/Fail)
- 95% approval rate on initial submissions (quality standard)
- This role is evaluated on speed, accuracy, and brand compliance simultaneously
- Primary place of performance is Austin, TX. Current operations are being conducted remotely with COR approval; however, candidates must be prepared to work onsite at AAL offices in Austin, TX as mission requirements dictate
- Work aligned to standard business hours, with occasional surge tied to campaigns and events
- High collaboration with communications, digital, and event teams
- Adherence to OPSEC and Army communication policies
- Completion of required training (AT Level I, OPSEC, PII, IA as applicable)
- Ensure no release of unapproved or sensitive visual content
- Proper identification as contractor personnel in all deliverables
- 3–6+ years of experience in graphic design or visual communications
- Active Secret clearance required
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent)
- Experience producing both digital and print media
- Strong understanding of branding and visual identity systems
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Experience supporting Government or regulated communications environments preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
