Job Description

Zendesk is on a mission to power exceptional service for every person on the planet. We’re accelerating that ambition by building products rooted in AI, automation, and intelligent customer experiences, because behind every interaction lies an opportunity to make a human connection.

About the Role

We’re looking for a high-energy GTM Strategy & AI Operations Intern to join our Sales Strategy team this summer. This is not a “shadow and observe” internship, you’ll work on real strategic initiatives that improve how we sell, position, and scale.

You’ll help modernize our GTM motion using data, structured thinking, and AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to make work faster, smarter, and more repeatable.

Monthly wifi stipend included!

What You’ll Do (Example Projects)

GTM Strategy & Market Insights
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis (ICP, segmentation, positioning, messaging).

  • Synthesize insights into clear recommendations for Sales leadership.

  • Support strategic GTM initiatives that improve focus and efficiency.

AI-Powered GTM Optimization
  • Design and test AI workflows that improve sales productivity (e.g., discovery prep, competitive battlecards, pitch personalization).

  • Create a lightweight “AI Playbook” documenting prompts, workflows, and use cases.

  • Identify measurable efficiency or quality improvements.

Sales & Presales Exposure
  • Shadow sellers and Solutions Consultants to understand the full sales motion.

  • Help refine a product pitch or demo narrative.

  • Deliver a final capstone presentation to GTM leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Self-starter who enjoys solving ambiguous problems

  • Strong communicator (clear decks, concise writing, confident presentation)

  • Analytical thinker comfortable working with data in Excel/Sheets

  • Curious about AI and excited to build hands-on experience applying it to business problems

  • Collaborative and comfortable working across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Rising junior or senior preferred (exceptional sophomores considered)

  • Available full-time for 10 weeks

  • Must be actively enrolled in a university prior to and post internship completion

  • Demonstrated analytical ability through coursework, projects, or prior internships

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to CRM or analytics tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Looker, SQL)

  • Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for structured work

  • Prior internship, case competition, startup, or leadership experience

What You’ll Gain

You’ll gain hands-on experience in modern GTM strategy at a global SaaS company, with real ownership over work that impacts how we sell and scale. Throughout the program, you’ll build practical AI-native operating skills, sharpen your analytical and executive communication abilities, and gain exposure to Sales and Presales teams. You’ll present your work to GTM leadership, receive mentorship along the way, and leave with tangible experience applying strategy, data, and AI to real business challenges.
