Position Purpose
Head of Manufacturing Engineering for JCB Manufacturing Inc, North America, based in our Savannah GA plant.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
- Ownership of the Manufacturing Engineering department driving Safety, Productivity and Quality improvements through Material Flow, Fabrication, Weld & Machining, Paint, Sub-Assembly and Mainline Assembly.
- Leadership, coaching and mentorship of the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- An Operational lead for ‘PRIME ‘& “PACE’ cost-down objectives.
- Support safe working methods, ergonomic improvements and other EHS initiatives as required.
- Ownership of ‘Operational Readiness’, ensuring ‘Design for Manufacture’ is the foundation for all New Product Introduction projects.
- Ensure Process FMEAs, control plans, and work instructions are completed in a timely manner.
- Revolution of current work instructions (SOP’s) for shop floor associates aligned to the JCB Production System.
- Implementation of OES systems throughout manufacturing.
- Owns the Capital Expenditure budget & forecast to deliver Productivity & NPI, optimizing plant capacity, driving Automation and eliminating product/process waste.
- Man Eng Advisor for a new $500m Manufacturing plant based in San Antonio, TX
Nature & Scope
Reports to Vice President Operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must pass applicable drug screens, background checks and pre-employment tests
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, degree in mechanical, materials, or manufacturing engineering preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience in processes and planning management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in mechanical, materials, or manufacturing engineering preferred
- 7+ years of manufacturing in a similar industry

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Effective customer service and communication skills
- Able to use strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Sound analytical skills with a practical balance of “shop floor” experience

- Able to work effectively in a team environment through delegation
- Ability to beflexible in a fast-paced environment
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
