POSITION STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN

REPORTS TO: Managing Director of Tennis

WORK SCHEDULE: Sunday - Saturday. Schedule will vary, 40 hours a week.

WHO YOU ARE:

As a Head Tennis Professional at the Midwest Tennis Center, you will be responsible for working with the Managing Director of Tennis to oversee all aspects of tennis programming, including instruction, court maintenance, and program implementation. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated leader with exceptional teaching skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive tennis community.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:

  • Implement and promote a comprehensive tennis atmosphere for all ages and skill levels, including private lessons, group clinics, camps, leagues, and social events.
  • Provide high-quality individual and group instruction to members, demonstrating advanced techniques and teaching methodologies
  • Create innovative and engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and skill progressions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all tennis programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure member satisfaction and participation.
  • Oversee the daily maintenance and upkeep of all tennis courts, ensuring they are safe, clean, and in excellent playing condition.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with club members, actively soliciting feedback and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of lessons, clinics, and program participation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field - Preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Head Tennis Professional or equivalent leadership role - Preferred
  • Current certification from a recognized tennis professional organization (USTA Coaching, USPTA, PTR) -Required
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality -Preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Preferred
  • Proficient in computer systems (Google Suite,POS, and scheduling software) - Preferred
  • Able to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment - Preferred
  • Interest or background in tennis or sports is a plus - Preferred
  • CPR Certification - Required

Travel required less than 5%
