Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position serves as a strategic and operational contributor supporting the development, execution, and evaluation of funded clinical and public health initiatives aligned with Academy priorities. The role advances the Health of the Public and Science (HOPS) strategy by supporting evidence-based clinical guidance, preventive services, and public health integration within family medicine.
Primary duties include:
- Designing evidence-based population health programs for family physicians and their patients
- Writing proposals, securing funding, and executing grant projects with minimal supervision
- Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement public health and clinical practice projects
- Evaluating projects and communicating key findings
Population health programs will focus on important primary care and public health concerns, such as improving health equity, reducing the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other illicit drugs, addressing epidemics related to obesity and chronic disease, vaccine hesitancy, and other issues vitals to primary care and public health. Working in close collaboration with internal stakeholders, governance bodies, subject matter experts, and external partners, the Strategist translates evidence, policy direction, and organizational priorities into actionable programs, funded initiatives, and strategic insights. Programs can range from physician/patient education to policy and systems change. There is considerable latitude with program design, and we are looking for innovative thinkers. This position operates with a high degree of independence while partnering with the Manager, Public Health and Clinical Practice, to ensure alignment with strategic goals and successful delivery of complex work.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required, and a graduate degree preferred in the area of public health, health care administration, or other related disciplines with a background in health policy. In addition, applicants must have 3-5 years of experience and understanding of public health, health care administration, or other related disciplines with a background in health policy. Preference will be given to those who have supported clinical guidance, conducted evidence reviews, or participated in policy-related work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience preparing summaries for executive leadership is preferred.
