The Housekeeper maintains the exterior and/or interior physical condition and appearance of the community. This position works in accordance with operating and safety standards, ensuring requests and repairs are made in a reliable, timely manner. Anticipates and evaluates potential problems. Assists in maintaining the highest level of attention to the operational needs of the community.
Reports to: The Service Manager has primary oversite of the Service Technician Level I - Housekeeper position. The Community (Sr.) Service Manager has the responsibility to determine the exact "day-to-day" duties of the Service Technician. Decisions will take into account the Technician's skills, experience, career goals, and how the individual best fits the working requirements of the community.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Maintain leasing office, model apartments, and amenities
- Ensure cleanliness of the interior and common areas of the community for an orderly and aesthetically pleasing look
- Continuously manage grounds, including sidewalks, public walkways, stairways, building exteriors, garden and park areas, to maintain an orderly appearance
- Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas
- Respond to resident requests in a timely manner, delivering excellent customer service
- Apply all applicable Mill Creek Residential policies and procedures, such as, but not limited to, company operating and safety standards. Promote safe work practices among on-site team
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local laws. Consistently abide by Fair Housing regulations
- Address and complete all other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Multi-Family maintenance experience helpful
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
- Accurately take measurements and perform basic arithmetic
- Frequently operate maintenance equipment such as, but not limited to, hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, snow and ice removal equipment, ladders, landscaping equipment and safety devices
- Safely use chemicals, paint, and general cleaning supplies
- Frequently operate motorized vehicles such as, but not limited to, car, truck, van or golf cart
License Requirements
- Valid State Issued Driver License and automobile insurance
Other Requirements
- Complete Mill Creek required training as related to job description within specified timeframe
- Additional training assigned by supervisor
- Commitment to be on-call as required by work schedule (when applicable)
Physical Demands
- Frequently physically transport up to 75 pounds variable distances
- Mobility and flexibility to work in small spaces or climb a ladder to perform maintenance repairs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb stairs or ladder etc.
- Ability to push, pull and reach above shoulders
- Confidently maneuver in and around a construction site, including climbing temporary stairs
- Capability to work well in an environment that may be noisy and contain airborne debris

Work Environment
- Varies - office setting, active construction site, temporary construction office or trailer, community grounds, resident homes
