Job Summary

Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) is accepting applications for our part-time/temporary Human Resources / Academic Affairs Assistant position which provides administrative and technical support for Human Resources and Academic Affairs departments at our Southeastern Campus. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources. The shift is Mon. – Fri., 9:00AM – 2:00PM (25-hour work week).

Job Duties:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Human Resources Related
• Front desk customer service includes assist visitors, answering incoming calls on the multi-line phone system, pick-up & distribute mail, print class schedules, MS Outlook communication, and use of the scanner/printer/copier/fax machine.
• Order and organize supplies for HR.
• Electronic filing of personnel documents in the electronic database.
• Conduct audits of databases and documentation to ensure compliance.
• Prepare HR New Hire Orientation materials.
• Maintain the physical filing system.

Academic Affairs Related
• Provide assistance to students and faculty at the Southeastern (SE) Campus.
• Order and organize supplies for SE Faculty.
• Share required documents with Academic Affairs such as transcripts, resume, licensure, and certifications for their audit needs.
• Field general questions regarding maintenance and facilities matters.
• Maintain and schedule room usage at SE campus with the web tool and maintain the academic schedule binder.
• Oversee the SE Library checking books in/out.
• Point of contact on issues with vending machines.
• Perform other HR/Academic duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma and six months related experience are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree and one (1) year related experience are preferred.
