Responsibilities
This is an on-site position in Niles, Ohio. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for providing a broad range of human resource services in support of the site’s business objectives, strategic goals, and initiatives. The Human Resources Business Partner performs or assists with diverse and complex assignments requiring a high degree of ingenuity and creativity and covering a wide area of human resources functions, including recruiting, generating and analyzing reports, talent development, and administrative support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Applies a broad knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and procedures towards the completion of difficult assignments/projects.
Performs full-cycle recruitment activities within established company guidelines to successfully fulfill recruitment needs for the salary workforce.
Works closely with management to interpret and execute policies and practices across the workforce to ensure consistent and equitable treatment.
Creates and conducts training sessions on various subject areas such as performance management, discipline, ethics and compliance, and payroll.
- Investigates, addresses and mediates conflicts between employees and management, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
Recommends and assists in developing local level policies and procedures.
Assists with reviewing, organizing, and verifying the accuracy and completeness of employee paperwork for new hires, changes, and terminations.
Completes unemployment claims and answers requests.
Investigates, prepares and submits payroll adjustments for all staff in a timely manner and communicates adjustments to the relevant parties.
Updates and maintains the Human Resources Information System.
Coordinates site-wide communications and events in support of the lead team.
Assists other Howmet worksites as necessary.
Qualifications
FoFor this position to be successful, the incumbent should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of salaried recruitment experience.
Experience working in a unionized, industrial environment.
