Job Summary

Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College is seeking an HVAC Technology Instructor to provide instruction to students in both theory and practice of the various aspects of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration related subject areas.

The faculty-teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester (or the equivalent). The assignment may include evening and weekend hours, as well as teaching at all Southeast remote sites.

This is a 10-month faculty position on the Middlesboro Campus with a start date of August 1, 2026.


Job Duties:

In addition to teaching, faculty are responsible for professional development, service to the College, and participation in institutional assessment. Participation in college and community activities is required. Candidates should be committed to the 2-year college mission, with a primary interest in the teaching/learning process as related to the 2-year college student.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Maintains order and discipline and provides ethics and employability training within course taught.
• Ensures that appropriate safety policies and procedures are developed and implemented in the HVAC Laboratories.
• Maintains program equipment and Lab areas.
• Keeps abreast of technical changes in the field and keeps course material up to date.
• Participates in professional development and training activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise in the area taught.
• Curriculum development and curriculum revision, academic advising duties, professional development, internal and external service, and participate in student recruitment and retention activities.
• Plan and carry out instructional activities, prepare lesson plans, maintain records and report on students’ progress.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree plus four (4) years of experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline or related field. Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License or the equivalent and EPA Certification.
