Job Summary:
The Indirect Loan Processor I role is to evaluate, analyze, process, and fund a high volume of indirect loan applications originated through franchise car dealerships that participate with credit union direct lending. Appropriate use of knowledge of OnPoint products, lending, and indirect auto financing is exercised to assess and decision loan applications. Requires an interactive and responsive approach while communicating with dealer partners to develop, deepen, and maintain strong partnerships.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluates, analyzes, processes, and funds indirect loan applications received through franchise car dealership that participate with credit union direct lending.
- Performs identity checks, verifications, and secures appropriate documentation to validate applicant’s legal name and identity.
- Identifies potential fraud, and takes action to mitigate risk in accordance with documented internal procedures.
- Reviews loan structure of indirect auto loans to ensure adherence to compliance regulations and guidelines.
- Audits loan contracts to ensure loan amount is within original approval parameters and escalates to management as appropriate.
- Obtains required documentation, and information prior to the disbursal of loan funds.
- Partners with branch personnel to obtain information and/or review the status of loan requests.
- Serves as a liaison between dealer and branch partners, communicating daily regarding loan applications, decisions, status of funding, and to clarify required auto purchase information.
- Assesses the importance, urgency, and risk associated with each loan request.
- Exercises assigned individual lending authority to approve, counter, or decline loan applications.
- Provides loan recommendations for loan requests outside of assigned lending authority to management for review.
- Opens new memberships generated through indirect lending delivery channel.
- Meets assigned individual production goals.
- Adheres to requirements, expectations, and standards outlined in the OnPoint Employee Handbook.
- Performs additional duties as requested by VP Indirect Lending.

- Knowledge of OnPoint’s lending guidelines, procedural guidelines, compliance requirements in addition to state and federal rules and regulations affecting area of responsibility. (Truth in Lending, Reg. B, CIP, FCRA, OFAC, BSA, and Military Lending Act).
- Knowledge of OnPoint’s products, services, and procedures; to include, but not limited to: loans and loan servicing, deposit accounts and servicing, Credit Cards, new memberships.
- Competency handling a variety of tasks simultaneously, prioritizing work, and working with a sense of urgency in a detailed and accurate fashion.
- Easily adaptive to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities.
- Exceptional time management skills with strong ability to coordinate and prioritize workload in high volume area.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year customer service experience in branch, contact center, or public environment required.
- 1 year financial institution experience with loan processing, or auto financing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of general math and basic computer skills required.
- Available to periodically work in the early evening hours and/or Saturdays.
