Sitting for long periods of time.ShiftMonday–Friday 8:00am-5:00pmJob SummaryThe Industry Extension Officer II in the Department of Engineering Technology plays a key role in supporting the Lean Systems Program (True Lean) through the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Lean education, simulation-based instruction, and applied industry engagement initiatives. The position contributes to the development and refinement of experiential learning environments that form the backbone of our certification programs and outreach activities.

This role integrates instructional design, technical laboratory and simulation operations, facilitation, and applied collaborative research to advance Lean transformation initiatives across both manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors. Responsibilities include supporting the development and execution of Lean simulations, assisting with classroom and laboratory infrastructure, facilitating training sessions, and contributing to interdisciplinary initiatives that expand Lean principles into areas such as healthcare, education, and service industries.

The position requires strong technical competence, instructional effectiveness, operational discipline, and the ability to collaborate across academic and industry teams. Ultimately, the role strengthens our simulation-based certification programs, enhances industry partnerships, and supports research and curriculum development aligned with True Lean philosophy and practice.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesDoes this position have supervisory responsibilities?
