Job Specs: Full time, Monday - Thursday with a rotating Friday half day.

Job Description
Responsible for providing professional nursing care for oncology and community patients following established standards of practice. Works as part of a team that plans and organizes all aspects of clinical patient care.


Responsibilities
• Assess psychological and physical effects of cancer diagnosis and side effects of infused treatments
• Use critical thinking skills to plan and implement interventions for solving patient problems within scope of nursing practice

• Create and load treatment regimens into the EHR system.
• Educate patients and family members on chemotherapy treatment, side effects and remedies
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment to ensure patient’s comfort
• Maintain patient and staff confidentiality
• Assess and access PACs and PICCs, Skilled in IVs
• Execute prescribed treatment interventions, administer prescribed medications, and monitor patient response
• Have knowledge of chemotherapy drugs and dosages according to cancer diagnosis
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
• Calculate treatment dosages and mix chemotherapy drugs
• Ability to safely handle hazardous drugs and mixing equipment
• Utilize knowledge of chemotherapy medications, cancer diagnosis, diagnostic procedures, and infection control
• Be proficient documenting in electronic MAR and use of office equipment
• Strong desire to work as a team with other nurses and staff
• Demonstrate ability to effectively function in high stress environment
• Ability to respond calmly and use critical thinking skills

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in the state of Utah
  • At least 12 months working experience as a RN
  • Have an active certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Oncology experience highly preferred
  • OCN certification required after 3 years of employment
