Become an Inspection Data and Compliance Advisorat Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll manage data and contracts, ensure regulatory compliance, and oversee transmission and distribution inspection programs and operations to deliver reliable energy. You’ll play a key part in leading projects/initiatives by obtaining necessary management approvals, conducting thorough tracking and analysis, and resolving issues related to project cost, scope, resources, and schedules. Analyzing business, operational, customer, and economic data will allow you to develop actionable business intelligence, uncover trends or patterns, and produce ongoing reports and data visualizations—such as charts, trackers, and heat maps—to inform strategic decision-making.

Additionally, you’ll oversee budgetary monitoring and accrual management for inspection programs, ensuring all project requirements are satisfied and expenditures meticulously tracked. Your role includes protecting the company’s physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, along with managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other highly sensitive materials, will require you to maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Finally, you’ll collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure all assets are routinely inspected, risks are mitigated, and public safety is prioritized throughout all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and executes contracts and agreements in compliance with administrative instructions and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures that permits and easements for facilities are obtained in accordance with all relevant city, county, and additional agencies
  • Develops and implements data management practices to sustain model integrity
  • Directs and coordinates transmission and distribution activities that provide energy services to customers, leading outage management, facility maintenance and capital improvements
  • Obtains management approval for on-going projects and conducts tracking, analysis and resolution of project cost, scope, resource and schedule issues, ensuring commitment on detailed work plans, including contingency and communication plans
  • Retrieves, analyzes and summarizes business, operations, customer and economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and predict business outcomes
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns and prepares ongoing reports and data visualizations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) in order to support business decisions
  • Monitors budget variances on a regular basis and prepares and monitors long term budget forecasts
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven years of experience in energy delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with program or project management in utility operations.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, ArcGIS) to support reporting, automation, and operational insights.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in utility operations.
  • Experience with SAP and Ariba for work management, contracts, and cost tracking.
  • Experience in finance with a strong focus on data analysis and business intelligence.

Additional Information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
