Job Summary
Jefferson Community and Technical College’s eLearning Office is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to support faculty and enhance course delivery in all modalities. This full-time position is based at the Southwest Campus, in the Office of eLearning, which supports faculty at all campuses and online.
Job Duties:
• Develop and maintain master course shells in Blackboard for selected academic departments.
• Collaborate with faculty to align course design with student learning outcomes and appropriate assessments.
• Provide professional development opportunities focused on effective online and hybrid teaching practices.
• Partner one-on-one with faculty to improve course design through coaching, feedback, and course review.
• Support departments and faculty in designing and delivering engaging courses.
• Contribute to Quality Assurance and Assessment efforts by supporting faculty as they align their courses with institutional standards for teaching and learning.
• Support the work of the Center for Teaching and Learning by collaborating on faculty development initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (related field), and one-year related experience, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in instructional design, education, or related field.
• Teaching experience in higher education.
• Advanced knowledge of Blackboard and related educational technologies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a demonstrated ability to meet goals.
