Job Summary

Teaches primarily Biology to students, advises students, maintains office hours, provides internal service to the college as assigned, provides external service as a representative of the college, pursues professional development, and provides leadership where appropriate.

Job Duties:

1. Teach transferable general Biology lectures and laboratories.
2. Develop syllabi, course materials, exams, etc.
3. Set up lab exams.
4. Use technology in lectures, laboratories, and online to enhance student learning.
5. Work closely with fellow Biology and Natural Sciences faculty.
6. Assist adjunct instructors and substitute for absent instructors as needed.
7. Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
8. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
9. Participate in internal and external service within the college.
10. Engage in an appropriate level of professional development as a faculty member

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree or above in Biology.
• Or Master's degree or above in any subject with a minimum of 18 graduate hours completed in Biology or closely related subject matter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience teaching at the college level.
• Qualification to teach general Anatomy and Physiology and/or Microbiology also preferred.
