Job Summary

Somerset Community College invites applications for an Instructor/Coordinator – Electronics.

Job Duties:

The instructor is responsible for planning and implementing instructional activities and preparing learning materials for the Electronics program. They will provide instruction to students through both theoretical lessons and hands-on lab activities. The instructor must stay updated on technical advancements in the field to ensure the program meets current industrial standards. Participation in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and technical expertise in Electronics is required.

Additionally, the instructor will be responsible for advising students, recruiting new students, participating in committee work, engaging in community service, collaborating with business and industry partners, developing the curriculum, leading program faculty, coordinating program activities, and performing other related duties as needed. Relevant work experience in the Electronics field is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree from a regionally accredited university or college and recent work experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university or college and two years of related work experience. Prefer working knowledge of circuits, rotating machinery, motor controls, National Electric Code, electrical construction, robotics, and PLCs.
