The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Clinician works within a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical services to individuals with substance and/or alcohol use disorders as part of a new Intensive Outpatient Program at South Shore Hospital. The IOP will provide evidence-based counseling services in group and individual settings for the treatment of substance use disorders as well as co-occurring mental health disorders. This position will also work with the clients to access community resources and work with collaterals in the community, including other behavioral health providers, PCP, and community support groups.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of addiction providers, including doctors, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and recovery coaches
- Assess, diagnose, and complete treatment plans for all clients. Develop treatment goals that are personally meaningful to the client, relevant to the diagnosis, and are behavioral, and measurable.
- Provide person-centered, trauma-informed clinical services to individuals with substance use disorders in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Clinician will utilize evidence-based practices for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and harm reduction.
- Identify appropriate community resources for patients with substance use disorders and match these patients to appropriate services. These resources include opioid treatment programs, mutual help groups (AA/NA), and other substance use/mental health supports.
- Provide education to patients on harm reduction, including opioid overdose and naloxone distribution (OEND), infection risk reduction, and discussing HIV pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis.
Required Skills
Education:
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
- License in a behavioral health field preferred, such as LICSW or LMHC
Required Experience
- Professional training and experience providing clinical services and substance use services to the program population, including a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field
- Group therapy experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience utilizing Electronic Health Record preferred
- Computer proficiency
