Responsibilities
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Intern in our Waco, Texas location.
We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students for the 2026 summer intern program at Howmet Fastening Systems. The program consists of 10-12 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, seminars, networking events, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Fastenings Systems will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any roles, and it’s Howmet Aerospace’s goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.
This position will report directly to the site’s IT Manager with daily coaching from the team’s quality engineers and technicians. The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program will include engaging in impactful projects to assist the company and the student’s professional development.
- Report Modernization & Assessment – Objective is to evaluate existing Crystal Reports, document purpose and data sources, and identify items to convert, consolidate, or retire. Exposure to report analysis, data structures, and BI fundamentals.
- Platform Recommendation – Objective is to classify reports as WebI or Power BI candidates and provide rationale to guide future development. Exposure to BI tool selection and design principles.
- Report Development Support – Objective is to assist with WebI and Power BI development, validate outputs, and apply basic standards. Exposure to SQL basics, semantic‑layer concepts, and model‑driven reporting.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2026
- Able to provide own transportation for position at Waco, Texas.
- Relocation assistance not provided
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree program by the start of employment.
- Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.). Must be proficient working in a Microsoft systems environment. Excel is required.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic programming recommended
- Prior Internship work experience
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, and/or similar technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

The salary for this position is $25 per hour.
