Job Description
The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in our department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care. You will perform diagnostic tests, operate equipment, and manage patients' well-being during procedures. This role requires a high level of technical competence and the ability to work independently. - Perform diagnostic testing as directed by physicians, ensuring optimal test results.
- Operate diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently, including peripheral devices.
- Manage patient care during procedures, adhering to patient care standards.
- Maintain supplies and report any equipment issues to the appropriate staff.
- Support student clinical education activities and promote a culture of learning.
- Provide excellent customer service and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with departmental procedures and maintain a high standard of care.
- Work collaboratively with the Interventional Radiology team and other healthcare professionals.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in interventional radiology and clinical applications.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program is mandatory.
- Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is a requirement.
- Certified in Radiography (R.T.(R) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is essential.
- Advanced ARRT certification is preferred, to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is mandatory.
- ACLS certification is required within 3 months of hire or transfer.
- One year of diagnostic testing experience is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
