Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in our department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care. You will perform diagnostic tests, operate equipment, and manage patients' well-being during procedures. This role requires a high level of technical competence and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic testing as directed by physicians, ensuring optimal test results.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently, including peripheral devices.
  • Manage patient care during procedures, adhering to patient care standards.
  • Maintain supplies and report any equipment issues to the appropriate staff.
  • Support student clinical education activities and promote a culture of learning.
  • Provide excellent customer service and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures and maintain a high standard of care.
  • Work collaboratively with the Interventional Radiology team and other healthcare professionals.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in interventional radiology and clinical applications.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program is mandatory.
  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is a requirement.
  • Certified in Radiography (R.T.(R) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is essential.
  • Advanced ARRT certification is preferred, to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is mandatory.
  • ACLS certification is required within 3 months of hire or transfer.
  • One year of diagnostic testing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
