The Role

The Senior Manager of Bank Debt role is a highly visible, dynamic role reporting to the Director, Trade Operations that affords you the opportunity to build and manage a team that works closely with our trading desk and business partners. This role will help maintain a high level of quality within the team while working to improve efficiency in support of a growing business. The Senior Manager will create routines to track the teams deliverables while balancing workloads and staffing needs. This individual will liaise with key stakeholders across Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) and Asset Management to ensure alignment on key initiatives and business objectives.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ year’s industry experience, preferably in middle or back office operations roles
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on delivering accurate, timely, and well-governed settlements, processing, and data to support trading desks, accounting and internal business partners.
  • Solid understanding of Broadly Syndicated and Private Term Loan settlements and maintenance
  • Strong risk management and process improvement focused experience
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of ownership and accountability for results
  • Strong experience in operations management concepts and tools
  • Strong understanding of change management, organizational strategy and design concepts
  • Strong organizational understanding and an ability to work with all levels, both within and outside of the organization.
  • Works effectively to get results while both leading and participating on teams
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and a demonstrated ability at influencing change
  • Overseeing all tasks associated with the Bank Debt Group including (but not limited to) trade settlements, fail management, and accounting processing.
  • Identifying and escalating issues, which could have significant impact on daily operations
  • Providing exceptional service to the various business partners
  • Participating in future project opportunities and facilitate change in a rapidly developing environment
  • Assisting with development and review for new and/or changes to departmental policies and procedures
  • Collaborating within team environment to successfully manage daily work volumes and quality standard

The Team

As part of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit, the Bank Debt Operations group is responsible for facilitating the processing, settlement, distribution, and reconciliation of Term Loan and Private Credit transactions in support of Accounting and Trading. This role requires phenomenal attention to detail, technical aptitude, ability to work in a time sensitive environment and the desire to think outside of the box. In addition to the technical aspect of the role, the individual also performs project work, looks for process improvements, partakes in training and development opportunities and is part of a larger team effort.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
