Ion Transport & Waveform Physicist - 683
We are seeking a Ion Transport & Waveform Physicist in our Broomfield, CO or Brooklyn Park. MN Location. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform research on cutting edge ion trap transport methods.
- Design and develop ion surface trap voltage waveforms for efficient ion transport.
- Create and maintain software tools to enable key features of ion transport waveform design.
- Work directly with computational scientists, experimentalists, and engineers to research solutions to cutting-edge ion transport problems.
- Communicate ground-breaking results both internally and externally through publications and presentations.
- PhD prior to start
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
- PhD in applied physics, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience with software management and collaboration tools and techniques
- Experience organizing and maintaining software projects or packages
- Experience working with trapped ions
- Knowledge of analog filters and related techniques for system simulation
- Experience applying physical principles to optimization problems or numerical simulation
- Experience with numerical optimization techniques such as convex optimization
- Experience using HPC clusters, GPUs, or other parallel computing techniques
- Experience working with quantum computing hardware
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results within your field of research.
