Position Overview
The Data Engineer is responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting our data pipelines and products. The ideal candidate is an experienced data engineer with a solid understanding of design principles and expertise in modern data platform tools and technologies, most notably Python, Spark, and Microsoft Fabric. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python, Spark, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure technologies.
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Keep our data separated and secure.
- Create data tools for analysts that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Some data engineering experience
- Some experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), especially cloud data technologies like storage, streaming, databases, data lakes, etc.
- Some experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Databricks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
