Job SummaryThe Janitor will ensure all common areas throughout the facility are clean and maintained to meet the company’s food safety and quality standards.

This position is 1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide Housekeeping including, but not limited to employee breakrooms, locker rooms, restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, hallways, QC labs, lactation rooms, first aid rooms, and shipping and receiving warehouses.
  • Support pest control efforts by helping prevent rodent and insect infestations, contributing to the production of safe, high-quality products.
    • Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling chemicals and cleaning agents.
    • Properly use, store and maintain cleaning supplies and janitor equipment.
  • Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
  • Complete work reports at the completion of each assignment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Qualifications and Requirements
    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to 9 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Basic understanding and terminology of a manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to read routine reports and correspondence and comprehend basic English.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management and apply practical sense to understanding and execution of detailed written and/or oral instructions.
    • Ability to resolve and deal with simple to complex problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations within the production processing operation.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with handling of cleaning chemicals and OSHA standards

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull, walk/stand for 8 hours and/or climb stairs.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work:
    • In a manufacturing environment with a variation of temperatures.
    • Near moving mechanical machinery/equipment.
    • With exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
    • In high, precarious places (approximately 30 feet above ground level).
    • In confined spaces of 18” openings.
