As our Junior Front-End Developer – Part-Time, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of digital experiences across the Portland Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter brands. You will focus primarily on the front-end, working under the guidance of the Full Stack Engineer to build performant, responsive, and visually compelling user interfaces.
Our ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, a solid understanding of modern web technologies, and an ability to collaborate across design and development teams. If this sounds like you, apply by August 8, 2025.
DAY-TO-DAY:
- Develop and maintain front-end components using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Create blank slate pages, custom blocks, and widgets within WordPress for partner activations and fan engagement.
- Ensure seamless integration with backend APIs and other data sources.
- Translate Figma designs into functional, accessible, and responsive user interfaces.
- Identify and resolve bugs to improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with design, marketing, and backend teams to deliver cohesive digital products.
- Maintain version control using Git/GitHub.
- Document processes and development workflows for internal reference.
- Contribute to UX/UI discussions and continuously improve digital product quality.
- Stay informed on web standards, accessibility best practices, and evolving front-end technologies.
- Commit to building inclusive and accessible digital experiences.
WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
- Demonstrated experience in front-end web development, or equivalent project-based experience.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with React and Next.js frameworks.
- Strong working knowledge of WordPress, especially creating custom templates and modules outside of standard theme structures.
- Familiarity with API consumption and basic data management workflows.
- Experience with version control tools like Git and GitHub.
- Ability to problem-solve independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance priorities in a changing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Familiarity with tools and platforms such as:
- Design & Prototyping: Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Content & Documentation: Notion, Coda
- Development Tools: Git, GitHub, network proxies, SEO tools
- Awareness of accessible development practices and inclusive design principles.
- Experience designing maintainable and efficient front-end architecture.
- Understanding of performance optimization and cross-device compatibility.
