Castle Biosciences Inc. is growing, and we are looking to hire a full-time Lab, Laboratory Supervisor working from our Phoenix, AZ office location, with a start date of May 16, 2026.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Laboratory Supervisor,

The Laboratory Supervisor leads the daily operations of the molecular laboratory, ensuring accurate, timely, and high‑quality patient test results. Each day begins with overseeing staffing and scheduling, providing guidance and training to laboratory personnel, and ensuring adequate coverage to maintain efficient and compliant operations.
Throughout the day, the Supervisor manages the flow of molecular testing activities, monitors turnaround times, and troubleshoots operational issues as they arise. They oversee equipment performance, reagent inventory, and documentation to keep the laboratory organized, inspection‑ready, and aligned with regulatory and safety requirements.
Administrative and compliance responsibilities are a key part of the role. The Supervisor develops, reviews, and maintains SOPs; manages documentation and audit readiness; and supports ongoing quality initiatives. Collaboration with Clinical Services, IT, Quality, and Operations is essential to resolve issues, streamline workflows, and implement process improvements that enhance laboratory performance.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and experienced in molecular laboratory operations, with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (minimum requirement).
  • Minimum 1 year of high-complexity molecular testing experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory.
  • ASCP certification preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Regulatory pathways (as applicable):
  • MD licensed in state of laboratory location plus NY CoQ and 2 years laboratory experience (minimum 1 year in clinical lab specialty).
  • PhD plus NY CoQ and 2 years laboratory experience (minimum 1 year in clinical lab specialty).
  • MS plus 4 years of laboratory experience (minimum 2 years in clinical lab specialty).
  • BS plus 6 years of laboratory experience (minimum 4 years in clinical lab specialty).
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical laboratory operations and molecular testing workflows.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical and operational issues.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, detailed, and organized records.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and operational needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, working from our Phoenix location, after hour coverage may be required as needed to support emergency situations or critical laboratory operations, salary exempt position.
