A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Laboratory, Molecular Quality Assurance Technologist,

The Molecular Quality Assurance Technologist supports Castle's Quality Management System by ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation across the Laboratory, Compliance, Clinical, Research, IT, and Clinical Services departments. This role involves maintaining Key Performance Indicators and trackers, preparing data reports, assisting with audits, and managing regulatory and compliance records, including CAP, CLIA, FDA, and NY State requirements. The QA Technologist also supports the document control system by managing QMS materials, SOPs, assigning and tracking training modules, and assisting with workflow implementation. Additional responsibilities include supporting regulatory submissions, facilitating interdepartmental communication, and coordinating materials for meetings and trainings. Most of the role is dedicated to quality assurance activities that maintain laboratory assay and device compliance, including reviewing QMS documentation, managing regulatory records, supporting audits, and collaborating with teams to ensure consistent quality practices and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or MLT (AA) in scientific, engineering, or mathematical discipline or equivalent
  • Solid understanding of clinical lab methodologies & general regulatory requirements such as, HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice, FDA, CAP, CLIA, CLEP NY state regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4 years' experience with data/IT in a research or clinical lab and/or development/manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases for data management, analysis, & working with pivot tables/graphs, & IT, experience preferred.
  • Clinical Quality Assurance & Quality Management experience (preferred)

SCHEDULE

  • Monday-Friday, from 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, exempt position, working from the Phoenix, AZ laboratory.
