Job Description
The Sinclair Lab is at the forefront of research on genes and small molecules that delay or reverse aging. Our work allows for the safe manipulation of tissue age to improve symptoms of aging and age-associated diseases. This technology has potential applications in combating cancer, blindness, diabetes, and neurodegeneration. We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to help advance our research on neurodegenerative disorders. This role involves characterizing the aging dynamics of neurons in both healthy and diseased states, and assisting in the development of age-reversal interventions as potential therapeutics. The successful candidate will employ both in vitro and in vivo (mouse model) experimental approaches under the guidance of senior researchers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate scientific equipment.
- Maintain and manage cell cultures.
- Perform standard experimental tests and procedures.
- Record and document experimental results according to established laboratory techniques.
- Present experimental results at lab meetings.
- Conduct related job duties as required.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Related college coursework.
- One year of experience with basic laboratory techniques.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Information
- Term: This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.
- Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
