Physical Requirements

Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.

Shift

Primarily Days Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends may be required due to experimentation.

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician will support a range of biomedical research projects in an academic laboratory setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with experimental procedures, sample collection and processing, routine molecular and biochemical assays, and general laboratory maintenance. The technician will help maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines, and support data organization and analysis.

This position is well suited for a detail-oriented individual seeking hands-on research experience and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing scientific studies, publications, and grant-funded projects.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Mouse/ra care (inc. dissections), molecular biology, Excel, attention to detail, verbal and written English-language proficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field and several years of successful independent work.
